Staple Magazine

Staple is a magazine of poetry, short fiction, articles, reviews and images published three times each year. Based in Nottingham it is edited by Wayne Burrows. Summer and Autumn 2009 are scheduled for an examination of literature and music. Shamrock Haiku Journal

Shamrock is a quarterly web journal. Submissions are accepted at any time but most issues are thematic, so publication of any accepted material may be delayed.


Albedo One

Since 1993, Albedo One has published stories of both Irish and international authors which push at the boundaries of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror. Albedo One is the primary source to keep up with Irish speculative writing but also feature international writers.
Each issue of our magazine also features a home-grown interview with the most interesting names in the field, and review and letter columns. The magazine is published between two and three times a year.


Verbal Magazine

Verbal is a monthly magazine produced by Derry's Verbal Arts Center and distributed free with newspapers from the Johnston Press group in NI. It also goes to libraries, schools, arts, health and community centers. The magazine includes book reviews, new writing, features, and youth pages. Have your work reviewed, or submit yourself- short stories and poems. Verbal covers most genres- popular and literary fiction, non-fiction, childrens, graphic novels.

Ireland's Own

Ireland's Own, the country's longest running magazine, comprises a journal of fiction, literature. Published weekly, the family magazine specialises in lightweight content, traditional stories, knitting patterns, and uncontroversial family content. The magazine does not currently have a web site.

Icarus Magazine

Published three times throughout the academic year, Icarus has been showcasing creative work by staff, students and alumni of Trinity College since 1953. Poetry, prose, drama and essays on literary themes are all works included in the magazine.

Irish Pages is a biannual Belfast journal combining Irish, European and international perspectives. This Irish periodical has a large general readership with outstanding writing from both Ireland and overseas. Each issue assembles a carefully edited mix of English and Irish, prose and poetry, fiction and non-fiction, style and subject matter, in an overall fit aimed at a wide range of reading tastes.


Poetry Ireland Review

Available quarterly, the Poetry Ireland Review publishes the work of both emerging and established Irish and international poets. Poetry and articles can be submitted. Each contributor receives a fee and a copy of the review in which their work appears.


Books Ireland

Books Ireland is a monthly publication. The first flush briefly covers each new Irish book sent in for review. Each issue also includes a more extended review on particular books by writers specifically chosen for their expertise or knowledge. Various features are based on interviews with authors, publishers and booksellers.

Cyphers

Ireland's longest running literary magazine Cyphers was founded in 1975. The magazine is published with the assistance of the Arts Council of R. Ireland and Northern Ireland. With strong emphasis on creative work it has published poetry, prose, graphics and reviews by many distinguished writers, translators and artists. The magazine is publishes three editions per year.

The Stinging Fly

Established in 1997, The Stinging Fly seeks to promote the best of Irish and international writing with a strong emphasis on new writing and particular interest in the short story form. The main objective is to provide a forum for the very best new Irish and international writing. Crannóg

Crannóg, a Galway-based literature magazine is published three times a year in spring, summer and autumn.The magazine is beautifully produced with a diverse selection of prose and poetry. It is available to buy on their web site and selected bookstores.
Submission Guidelines: Closing dates for submissions are: January1, May 1 and September 1.
Reading Times: Nov 1-January 1 for spring. March 1-May 1 for summer. July 1-September 1 for autumn.
Submissions sent outside these times will not be read.
